Zoom has certainly emerged as the current leader in virtual communications, but there are other companies out there to consider. Some alternatives to Zoom include:

  • Cisco Webex Meetings – have the capacity to hold a meeting with a thousand video conference participants – with over 10 languages supported. The dashboard is easy to navigate, along with the scheduling and recording of events. You can link to conferences and schedule meetings with your mobile phones and computers using a single link;
  • Google Meet – very much synchronized with the G Suite, Google Meet allows you to join meetings using just your browser or join from a calendar event. Importantly, Google’s built-in protection gives a high level of security. Google Meet includes Pexip, which offers interoperability that lets participants across different meeting platforms join your Google Meet meeting room including Skype for Business, Polycom, and Cisco;
  • GoToMeeting -lets you share your desktop, smartphone, or tablet screen quickly and securely from anywhere. You can start and run an online meeting from your mobile device and record your meetings in real-time;
  • Skype Meet Now – allows you to  start a conference call directly from your browser, without being signed in to Skype. You can run a group call without setting up a group name or adding the participants first;
  • Microsoft Teams – allows unlimited chat messages, personal and team storage of up to 10 GB,and unlimited app integrations including Trello, Adobe, and Evernote;
  • BlueJeans – has the ability to hold meetings which can be split into breakout sessions. Users can share their screen or facilitate remote desktop access for another person, and meetings can be recorded with the recordings split into chapters for easy navigation;
  • Join.me – provides a personalized URL so you can invite participants to a meeting with just a single click.;
  • TeamViewer -you can hold meetings and presentations remotely, record the meeting, share files, and exchange documents; and,
  • Uber Conference – includes features such as screen sharing, voice intelligence to transcribe meetings, and the ability to send a post-call summary with the call transcript.
