Virtual food or drink events remain popular team building activities! As restaurants and catering companies have needed to find innovative ways of surviving the pandemic, more and more options are available. Here are some of the latest offerings:
Wolfgang Puck Catering can give your team the opportunity to take a class from one of the world’s most famous chefs. Their virtual, interactive cooking experiences feature several of the catering company’s acclaimed chefs, including Wolfgang Puck himself. For $8,000 US Puck will host a 90-minute cooking demo and a Q&A session for up to 20 virtual participants. Other chefs, such as the vice president of culinary or the executive pastry can host for $2,500. They provide premeasured and hand-packed ingredients which can be delivered to participants in the continental U.S or are available for pickup in major US cities.
Local Food Adventures offers virtual ice cream socials for private groups. Participants each receive an ice cream box that includes the ingredients needed to make their own Rocky Road ice cream. As many as 99 guests can participate at one time and a one-hour Zoom event is included where guests experience a history tour, play trivia games, and have a “create your own flavor” contest.
The Casa Bacardi distillery in Puerto Rico has a personalized virtual mixology class, hosted by their rum experts. Groups as large as 100 will watch mixologists demonstrate how to craft rum-based cocktails – such as mojitos, piña coladas, or coquitos. Casa Bacardi delivers a custom Bacardi shaker, muddler, jigger, and strainer and ingredient list. Classes cost $75 per person.
City Brew Tours has a variety of interactive craft beer experiences. For example, the Live Homebrew Class will mail guests a beginner’s brew kit and a live instructor guides them through the process of brewing 2.5 gallons of their own beer. The class costs $135 per person (including equipment and ingredients). They restrict groups to no more than 20 to ensure hands-on interaction.
These are just a few examples of the many virtual culinary experiences available. Check with your local restaurants, distilleries, etc to find out what’s available, support your local businesses, and provide your team and associates with a memorable experience!
